FOX Parkersburg would like to invite your school to nominate a student to compete for a chance to win a guaranteed audition to join the cast of the FOX Network’s prime-time hit, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? with the FOX Parkersburg/ Jan Dils Smart 5th Grader contest.
WTAP News will be soliciting nominations from schools from May 2 through May 18.

FOX Parkersburg (WTAP) will select one nominated student from each elementary school represented in our viewing area to become a finalist for the coveted audition prize.

We will feature the finalists on wtap.com with a picture and written profile. The viewing public will then have the opportunity to log on wtap.com and vote for their favorite 5th grader from May 19 through May 25. The student with the most votes will win hotel accommodations and a guaranteed audition at a regional casting call in front of FOX producers.

Eligible nominees must be ENTERING 5th grade in the fall of 2007. Producers are looking for students who are personable, comfortable in front of the camera and possess reasonable intelligence for their grade level.

The staff of your school may select your nominee or you could involve the current 4th grade students in a fun school contest to decide who will represent your official school nomination. Ideas include a spelling bee, talent contest, or trivia bowl. Have fun with it!
