A pedestrian accident in Washington County sends a teenager to a Columbus hospital.

The accident happened around seven Tuesday evening on 6th Street in Beverly, near Fort Frye High School.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says a 14-year-old girl was hit by a car.

The girl was taken by helicopter to Children's Hospital.

Mincks says it was not a hit-and-run and the person behind the wheel stayed at the scene to help.

The Waterford and Beverly EMS crew responded to the scene, along with the Beverly Police Department.

Names are not being released at this time, and there's no word yet if charges will be filed.
