At times, the forecast called for 60 to 80 percent chance of thunderstorms to sweep through the mid-Ohio valley Wednesday morning.
But those storms avoided the Parkersburg-Marietta area, passing through as just showers and rainfall.
The showers were needed for the budding and blooming plants of spring, but the heavy storms didn't arrive as anticipated.
The official report from the Wood County Airport saw no showers at all, but just to the West in Ohio, the rain was occasionally heavy, and sporadic.
The next round of storms is likely this Friday, and the dramatic cool down that will follow almost assures the strong storms will be seen.
