The promised showers did show up, but not for long.

Most areas barely got a tenth of an inch of rain the last day of the month, with as much as a quarter of an inch possible.

The low pressure system that trailed the cold front remains spinning over the great lakes region, but not strong enough to develop much more than sprinkles in the MOV.

As a result, many growing plants are turning brown, as Fall arrives for real in the region.

The calendar may indication the change of seasons last week, but the cooler temperatures and shorter daylight will trigger more leaf drops and color changes this week.

The grand total for the MOV appears to be less than an inch and a quarter precipitation this month.

Can Halloween and harvest time be far behind?
