As soon as we arrived at the Baptist Conference Center gym John picked up the basketball.
"I usually go outside and play football or basketball," he said.
This thirteen-year-old can twirl, shoot, and throw a mean bean bag.
He was eager to jump in and try corn hole but before I knew it he was beating me by a landslide!
John said "I like exercising" and he's aiming for a bright future.
"I want to dig up stuff that's never been found yet."
This seventh grader plans to go to college to become an archaeologist someday.
"In the mountains and try to read books where dinosaurs were last at and go there," he said.
Now he's taking advantage of learning about wildlife here outside the classroom.
He said "I like crayfishing" and the fish seem to really like him!
"I got special bait that catches bass with."
Even though his favorite foods are steak and macaroni and cheese he's not afraid to dig into the crayfish he catches but "they're better with butter though," he said.
Now he'd like to spend an afternoon sitting beside a pond, fishing beside a family.
"I like a family that likes fishing and going out places," said John.
Brothers and sisters to hang out with would be a plus.
"Like a big brother or something," he said.
A big brother to look up to and a permanent family where he can belong.
