Football Frenzy Week 8 recap
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Round 2 of Ohio High school playoff action got underway on Friday night, and many West Virginia teams continued their regular season action. The Big Reds, Patriots, and Yellowjackets all faced opponents at home, while St. Marys hit the road to take on Magnolia.
The Parkersburg Big Reds faced a tough test against the state’s top-ranked AA team the Bluefield Beavers. A big night from Bryson Singer gave the Big Reds a huge 29-8 victory over Bluefield to improve to 4-2 on the season.
The Parkersburg South Patriots looked to snap a four game losing streak, but they fell short against the Morgantown Mohigans 55-21.
Class A power Williamstown took on Tyler Consolidated, and moved to 5-1 on the season after a 41-6 victory.
St. Marys headed up to Wetzel County to face Magnolia, and they came away with a 41-7 win to move to 6-1.
Ritchie County dominated Webster County 73-18.
Over in Ohio, the Waterford Wildcats traveled to Hannibal to face off against River, they lost a heartbreaker 7-6.
The Frontier Cougars faced a huge challenge against Shadyside, and they were defeated 48-14.
Eastern traveled to Caldwell and defeated the Redskins 26-14.
