PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The Parkersburg and Wood County Library is partnering up with Historic Henderson Hall to put on a scavenger hunt next week. The hope is for you to take home a little knowledge, and possibly even a prize.

The scavenger hunt will take place at noon from October 18th to the 24th. Admission will be half-price at five dollars to participate.

Jim Miracle of the library’s genealogical department says he always finds something new when he visits Historic Henderson Hall and the hope is that you will to.

Some items on the scavenger hunt list include a signed baseball from the 1915 world series, an old typewriter, a book press, and more.

Miracle says the importance of history is more than just knowing facts.

“We need to know where we come from in order to know where we’re going. And if we don’t know where we come from, we tend to forget the bad things we did.”

There is no denying this historic place’s dark past as the Henderson Hall was once a plantation.
