Ohio high school sports move forward

Governor Mike DeWins gives the go ahead to start the high school winter sports seasons.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTAP) - Ohio governor Mike DeWine addressed high school athletics in the Buckeye State during his Coronavirus briefing on Tuesday.

DeWine says right now, no action is being take to delay the start of the winter sports seasons.

He made the announcement as Ohio sees a surge new cases of COVID-19 infection in recent weeks.

The winter sports includes boys and girls basketball, hockey and wrestling.

The girls basketball season begins on Friday. and the boys basketball season can start Nov. 25h, with wrestling and hockey will begin within the next month.

Just like fall sports, there will be a limited number of spectators allowed to attend the contests
