Name of drug overdose victim releases; two arrested
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Two people are charged in connection with the drug-related death last week of a Parkersburg man.
The overdose victim has now been identified as 34-year old David Lucas Givens.
Autumn Dawn Wilson and Gregory O’Brien Long are charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver.
They were arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court, with bond set at $100,000. They are housed in the North Central Regional Jail.
The arrests came as a result of an investigation into an overdose death believed to have happened at a Liberty Street home earlier in the week.
”Our detectives were able to obtain enough information to secure a search warrant on Liberty Street, where this overdose took place,” Parkersburg Police Chief Joseph Martin said Monday. “Once they executed the warrant, they were able to locate several grams of suspected fentanyl.”
Police seized $4,000 and items related to the distribution of controlled substances.
Additional charges could be presented to the Wood County Grand Jury.
