Warren’s Peyten Kellar wins at national wrestling competition
Peyten Kellar wins the 160 division at NHSCA High School Nationals wrestling tournament
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTAP) - it’s been quite a year for Warren High School wrestler Peyten Kellar.
In March, he won an Ohio high school state wrestling championship, and over the weekend, he won in national competition.
Kellar competed at the National High School Coaches Association High School Nationals tournament in Virginia Beach over the weekend.
He brought home a championship in the 160 pound weight class.
The Warren senior defeated Chandler Amaker of South Carolina in Sunday’s finals.
He scored an 8-4 decision to cap off 3 days of competition.
In all, Kellar won 4 matches on his way to the championship.
It’s a great way to wrap up his high school career and now he’s ready for a college career on the mat at Ohio University.
