Obituary: Patricia Sue Parsons
Patricia Sue Parsons, 79, of Mineral Wells passed away June 6, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center following complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born on January 10, 1942 in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Hurl and Nettie Tuell Deem.
Pat graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended Mountain State College. She had worked at Corning Glass but will be most remembered for babysitting half of Mineral Wells. The children she babysat over the many years kindly referred to her as “Mommy Pat”. She sang in a trio for several years and was a 4-H leader. She and her husband were active with Good Sam Club and camping with club members. Pat was a member of the Big Tygart United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women.
Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years Gary L. Parsons, three sons Craig Parsons (Cyndi), Jay Parsons (Tammy), Brent Parsons (Lacey), seven grandchildren Adam, Megan, Lindsey, Colton, Delaney, Rylee, Reagan, three great grandchildren and one on the way, brother Rick Deem (Anna), seven nieces and nephews and the many “children” she babysat who were like family.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sister Sonja Deem.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastors Rick Dequaise and Kevin Gillespie officiating.
Burial will follow at Big Tygart-Rockport Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 - 8 on Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
