Sheila Jean Deems, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully Friday, June 4, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born March 21, 1947 in Pomeroy, Ohio, a daughter of the late George H. and Helen M. King Hicks.

Sheila was a homemaker and enjoyed watching western movies and the inspiration channel on television and planting flowers in her younger years. Sheila was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Courtney B. Janssen (Patrick) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a step-son, Gregory S. Collins (Tiffany) of Hixson, Tenn.; a sister, Crestlyn R. Hill (Paul) of Racine, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lex D. Hinton, Georgia N. Janssen and Gracelyn P. Janssen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry David Deems.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Vaughan-Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg officiated by Gregory S. Collins. Services will conclude with burial in Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 6th from 5 – 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
