MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - The Women’s Giving Circle met for the first time in over a year and awarded Eve, Incorporated with a generous donation.

The women’s shelter is receiving an $8 thousand grant from the philanthropic group.

The team came together on this decision after Eve, Incorporated was selected by nomination.

“I was the Giving Circle member who submitted EVE, Inc.’s name for my proposal,” said Molly Varner, Women’s Giving Club member. “The work they do for victims of domestic abuse is so important, which is why I can’t be more excited that they were selected to win our spring grant!”

Eve says that they are thankful for the donation as the pandemic was a significant burden on them raising funds.

This includes them not receiving their annual federal grant and were not able to do their auction either.

“And so, we are going to kind of use this eight thousand to supplement what we lost from the auction. And a lot of that we use for match for other grants. Specifically, VOCA too,” says shelter director, Jessica Dearth.

Eve, Incorporated has a 24-7 hotline available for anyone that is dealing with a domestic issue.

If you are in need of help at any time, you can dial 7-4-0-3-7-4-58-19.
