PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The Wood County Board of Education approves a Director of Secondary Education position. The board says it is not adding any new positions.

This is a part of the restructuring plan in the central office. This means some employees’ roles and titles will change.

For example, Christie Willis will be filling an assistant superintendent position. She had been the Director of Curriculum.

Also at the meeting, the Golden Horseshoe winners were recognized and Williamstown Elementary School was honored for being a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School.

The Golden Horseshoe is a statewide test for eighth graders that quizzes them on their knowledge about West Virginia history.
