MID OHIO VALLEY (WTAP) -Looking to earn some extra cash this summer and fall?

The Ohio and West Virginia football association wants to hire officials for several different sports throughout the MOV.

Bill Sams, President of the Ohio and West Virginia Football Official Association says they have seen a drop in officials the past 10 years due to many people retiring.

He says he’s hopeful new people will join due to the flexibility the job offers.

“If you want to work 5 days a week you can. If you want to work one you can do that too. You’re not going to get rich on it by any means but you can certainly make a little extra money doing it.”

Sams says the rookie class for football officials starts July 12th and runs for three weeks, usually three nights a week from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ohio Valley University. For more info, people can visit http://owvfoa.org/.
