Candidate for U.S. Senate hosts town hall in Marietta
Ohio State Senator Matt Dolan stopped by Marietta Thursday for a town hall.
MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Ohio State Senator Matt Dolan stopped by Marietta Thursday for a town hall.
Dolan is the latest Republican to enter the fray to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Rob Portman. During Thursday’s town hall said he is focused on the economy and security. He says he wants to increase border security and is against defunding the police. He also wants to increase broadband for the residents of Washington County.
“The infrastructure bill just negotiated by Senator Rob Portman provides for broadband. I’m the only Senate candidate supporting that. How can anyone else come to Washington County and say I’m going to fight for you in Washington and you turn your back and say ‘Nope, you’re not getting broadband,” said Dolan.
Also vying for the GOP nomination are former Ohio treasurer Josh Mandel, author and venture capitalist J.D. Vance, former state GOP chair Jane Timken, car dealer Bernie Moreno and investment banker Mike Gibbons.
