PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - “Most of the precinct locations are still the same,” says Wood County Clerk Mark Rhodes. “It’s just a new number on their precinct location is what it is.”

Rhodes says his team has had to make several changes to both the precinct and magisterial district maps.

One example, he says, is the change from three delegate districts in the county to five... still with the same number of delegates.

Rhodes says he hasn’t received any pushback on the changes.

He explains the reasoning behind them... “We just look at census numbers. We don’t look at any... what party anybody is, anything of that nature.”

These changes, he says, could affect up to 8,000 voters.

As of Thursday, you can use the website mapwv.gov/vote to find out your precinct number.

It also shows which magisterial district, State House district, State Senate district, and United States Congressional District you will vote in.

“I know that this has been in the works for the past couple, three weeks...” Rhodes says about the online resource. “I did get the email last night that it was done and it was up, and it is actually mobile friendly, too. I actually used it on my phone after I got the email.”

He says it is not too late to register to vote and that absentee ballot applications are also still open... “May the 4th is the date... and that will be the last day... the request has to be in our office by that date. That gives us time to actually mail the ballot out and to receive it back.”
