PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Dezaray Roberts was held without bond during her hearing Friday, May 20, in Judge Jason Wharton’s courtroom in Wood County Circuit Court.

Roberts was charged with first-degree murder for the death of Terrance Mills Junior on May 17.

During Friday’s hearing, prosecuting attorney Pat Lefebure requested Roberts to be held with no bond.

Roberts’ attorney Dustin Schirmer asked for a bond to be set due to her not having a past criminal history, her work in the community, and to be able to take care of her three-year-old son.

Roberts is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in Wood County Magistrate Court.
