Alexa Griffey

Alexa Griffey started working at WTAP on June 13th, 2022. She is from Parkersburg and graduated from Parkersburg High School. She went to Marshall University where she received a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a master's degree in Communication Studies. While at Marshall, she worked in Entertainment at Disney World for the Disney College Program.

After graduating in 2018, Alexa moved to South Korea where she taught English for two years. She lived in the Gyeongsangbuk-do province and says the food was amazing.

She worked as a Market Researcher in South Carolina after returning to the United States.

In August of 2021 she returned to the Mid-Ohio Valley and taught for Wood County Schools.

Alexa has worked as an MMJ, Weekend Anchor & Producer, and Evening 5/10 Anchor & Producer.

She started her current role as Morning/Noon Anchor and Producer on May 29th, 2023.

When she's not at work, Alexa likes to run, read, or watch movies with her two cats.
