After an internship at an Alabama TV station, Loyd graduated from Troy University’s Hall School of Journalism and Communications in 2013, with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

He then wrote, edited and produced live TV newscasts for a few years at stations in Georgia and Tennessee, before following his newly-discovered passion for digital and social news here to WTAP.

In his spare time, Loyd enjoys meeting new people, reading, learning about new technology, going to car shows, exploring the history of the Mid-Ohio Valley, and – when weather allows – hiking, biking and kayaking.

Loyd is excited to live and work in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and to serve its people with the latest, most-accurate news, weather, sports and other information on all screens!
