Jesse Wharff joined WTAP in February 2020 as a Multimedia Journalist.
Jesse grew up in Marietta, Ohio, in a family of journalists. His uncles, John and Chris, are well-known throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley for their broadcasts of local sporting events.
Jesse attended Ohio University, studying journalism. While there, he was the play-by-play commentator for the Southern Ohio Copperheads, covered Vinton County High School football for the Athens Messenger, and covered numerous Athens County basketball and baseball games for WOUB. On his breaks from college, he would work for his family’s radio station, WMOA, in Marietta, broadcasting games and reporting local news.
He looks forward to returning to the Mid-Ohio Valley and bringing exciting stories to your television.
