Congratulations to the January, 2019 Jan Dils' Golden Apple Award winner: Todd Meckley, who teachers anatomy, biology and physiology at Parkersburg South High School!

Meckley has been teaching for 13 years total, with this year being his 6th year teaching at PSHS.

He says teaching is the best profession someone can pursue, and says being able to teach anatomy, biology and physiology every day allows him to prepare students for successful medical careers.

The person who nominated Meckley was a former student, who still keeps in touch when questions come up.

Meckley says he enjoys hearing from his former students and seeing their progress in life.

"You have a lot of kids that you send out, you don't hear from them, and you see them out in the real world. You know they tell you that you do a good job, but for her to sit down and take time and actually write good things make me proud that I'm a teacher. That's why I'm doing it for, you know I'm not doing it for things like this, I'm doing it for kids like her."
