BELPRE OH, (WTAP)- The Ohio Attorney General’s office says that it has distributed most of the money lawmakers designated last year for school safety grants.
School districts in Washington County received these grants to improve their school security.
Belpre City Schools has already decided how to spend their newly acquired funds.
“Our Board of Education is going to install security cameras on the inside and outside of our buildings. It’s something that we’re very excited to have, both as a deterrent and also as a way to keep eyes and ears on our schools and make sure our kids are safe,” says Jeffrey Greenley, Belpre City Schools Superintendent
Belpre City Schools received near $30,000 from the grant. They hope to have the cameras installed within the next 8 weeks.
