Frontier Communications hosts 8th annual first responders luncheon

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - Frontier Communications hosts its 8th annual Frontier Honors First Responders Luncheon, Thursday.

First responders got to take a load off today and enjoy a free lunch courtesy of Frontier Communications and its sponsors.

Frontier invited first responders from local counties to show their appreciation for the hard work they do everyday.

Sherry Crutchfield is the director of operations at Frontier Communications and says organizers look forward to putting on the luncheon every year and plan a few months in advance.

"They work extremely hard all hours of the day and night and I think this is just a little thank you we can give back to them for all they do for us," said Crutchfield.

Sgt. Mike Stalnaker of the Parkersburg Police Department says, he has attended the luncheon almost every year.

"There's so many times when we do meet when police and fire and EMS are together, we're usually on scene at some tragic situation somewhere. So, it's nice that we can have this lunch and that Frontier puts it on for us and we can sit down and fellowship and have a peaceful lunch together where there's not some type of tragic incident involved," said Stalnaker.

Sponsors included Jan Dils, Sam's Club, The Coffee Bar, Deb Lorentz Photography, the Art Center, J.C. Rutter Edwards Jones and Jayla Jones.
