WILLIAMSTOWN, W. Va. (WTAP) - American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown hosted their 15th annual community Thanksgiving dinner.
Starting with the late Greg Meredith 15 years ago, the Legion has been proud to bring the community together on Thanksgiving day.
On Thursday, around 200-300 people were served in Williamstown. The Legion bought 8 turkeys, and many cans of green beans and sweet potatoes to serve as many people as they could.
The Legion even delivered cooked food to those who could not cook their own food, or leave their home to be with others on Thanksgiving, and the people are always grateful for that.
"We've grown over the years and we've learned a lot of things.," said Jeff Meeks, a long-time volunteer. "We've got a great crew of volunteers that help with the dinner, donating desserts, and do deliveries and the community really comes together for this dinner."
