Event organizers say that this event is important because it has become a tradition and because it is brings business downtown.
“The Riverfront Roar and all the other events that we have here in Marietta in the city and also in Washington County means so much to our merchants and to our restaurants. Visitors love Marietta, they love coming to our river events and that shows when they shop in our stores, eat in our restaurants, and stay overnight in our hotels,” says Deana Clark, Marietta Washington County convention visitor bureau executive director.
