MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Four people were arrested Tuesday after authorities turned up heroin and drug paraphernalia while searching a residence on 10th Street in Marietta.
The raid was carried out by members of the Washington Morgan Noble Major Crimes Task Force, which includes officers from the Marietta Police Department and the sheriff's office.
Authorities charged Dwayne E. Miller, 55, of Marietta, with tampering with evidence and possession of drugs; Jason B. Harper, 38, of Marietta, with permitting drug abuse; Mark Sanders, 27, of Lincoln Park, Mich., with possession of drugs; and Teara Kay Harper, 38, of Marietta, possession of drugs.
All four suspects have been booked into the Washington County Jail to await a bond hearing in Marietta Municipal Court on Wednesday.
According to court records, Miller was found with two suboxone pills and a small amount of heroin that was in a necklace he was wearing.
Deputies also found a plastic bag containing nearly four grams of heroin while searching a room in the basement where Saunders had been sleeping.
They also found a small amount of heroin and other drug paraphernalia in the bedroom of Jason and Teara Harper.
During the investigation, records indicate that Jason Harper also told deputies that Sanders had spent the night at the residence after being dropped off there on Monday. During questioning, he told deputies that he thought Sanders had been dealing heroin in Parkersburg and that he had obtained heroin from him.
