PARKERSBURG, W. Va. The Actors Guild of Parkersburg held an award ceremony Sunday, honoring Eli Clark's memory with its first Eli Clark award.
Eli sadly passed away on September 24, 2018 from cancer but his memory and the lives he touched.
Eli's mother says, the theater was Eli's favorite place to be and the guild builders brought out the best in him.
Brent Null is the vice-president of memberships and the chairman of the awards.
"We thought it would be a perfect way to recognize his legacy, his memory, and his life because he loved the guild builders so to be able to recognize a guild builder for sort of the passion that they have for theater and the qualities that Eli embodied during the program. I think that's a wonderful way to recognize somebody's talent," said Null.
"He was an amazing young man. He had a favorite saying, 'a stranger is just a friend that you haven't met yet' and that's the way he looked at life," said Roy Clark, Eli's father.
Aiden Kingler was the recipient of the Eli Clark award.
