PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - February is American Heart Month, and Memorial Health System hosted its annual dinner at the Blennerhassett Hotel Tuesday evening.
Those in attendance were able to meet with cardiologists and other health-care professionals and ask questions about cardiac care in the region.
Heart attack and congestive heart failure are common in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
"There are close to 6 million Americas who live with a diagnosis of heart failure," Dr. Solomon Bagae said. "And this number is growing by time."
Memorial Health System will host a second presentation from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at the at the Elizabeth Sugden Broughton Community Building located at 639 State Route 821 in Marietta.
