VIENNA, W.Va (WTAP)- The Dave Couch Golf tournament drew 36 teams of golfers to the Parkersburg Country Club on Friday to raise money for ALS research.
The tournament is held in honor of the commissioner that passed away from ALS in 2001.
On average, the event raises up to $35,000 annually and has nearly 150 golfers.
“It’s the most participated in fundraising golf tournament that goes on in the Mid-Ohio Valley and it is a day everybody looks forward to not only to raise some funds to fight this devastating disease, but to honor our friend Dave Couch,” notes Scott Davidson, committee member of the Dave Couch tournament.
This is the 19th year of the event.
