Authorities break up alleged theft ring in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - Jackson County authorities arrested two men allegedly connected to a "major" theft ring, the sheriff's department said in a Facebook post on Friday.

The arrests in connection with at least 18 burglary and breaking and entering cases followed a lengthy vehicle pursuit, the post said.

Deputies were not available Friday afternoon to provide the names of the suspects or information about the chase.

Most of the thefts took place in the northern half of Jackson County over a two-week period, and the post said "a small portion of evidence" was recovered.

Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim in this case is asked to call the sheriff's department at 304-373-2290.
