ASHLAND, Ohio (AP) - Authorities have captured a prisoner who escaped at an interstate rest stop in Ohio while he was being moved by a private inmate transport company.

The State Highway Patrol says 33-year- Said Ali El-Khatib (sy-EED' ah-LEE' el khah-TEEB') was taken into custody about 6 a.m. Sunday near a motel in Ashland, roughly 65 miles (105 kilometers) southwest of Cleveland.

The patrol said he escaped Friday at an Interstate 71 rest area in Wayne County, Ohio, while the inmate transport company was taking him from New York to his Fort Wayne, Indiana, hometown. The patrol in Ohio said Sunday that the prisoner is wanted in Allen County, Indiana, on a warrant charging him with receiving a stolen vehicle.

It couldn't be determined whether he has an attorney.
