Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, Ohio, was arrested on May 31, 2018, on a warrant on Burglary out of St. Marys, W.Va., and is a person of interest in the death of death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of St. Marys.

A person of interest in a suspicious death case in St. Marys waives his preliminary hearing.

Michael Shawn Sprouse waived the hearing on Friday.

Sprouse was charged with the burglary of a home in St. Marys, which prosecutors say is related to the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne. Pleasants County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Carr says the state dismissed that charge.

Kuehne was found dead inside a home in St. Marys last May.

The case will now be considered by a grand jury.


UPDATE: 7/24/2018 4:45 P.M.

A preliminary hearing for a person of interest in a suspicious death case in St. Marys is continued while attorneys await an autopsy report.

Michael Shawn Sprouse is currently charged with burglary, in a case investigators say is related a suspicious death of a man at a St. Marys home in late May.

Prosecutor Brian Carr said Tuesday a medical examiner's report is pending on the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, a report Carr says could have a effect on the charges against Sprouse.

Sprouse's preliminary hearing is now set for August 24.


UPDATE: 07/09/18

Pleasants County prosecuting attorney Brian Carr says that the State, Michael Sprouse, and his counsel appeared today for the preliminary hearing. The defense waived the time period and the hearing was reset for July 24th at 2pm.

Last week, Sprouse waived his extradition to West Virginia and returned voluntarily.

He was arraigned in Pleasants County magistrate court and given a $200,000 bond.

UPDATE: 07/03/18

Pleasants County prosecuting attorney Brian Carr says Michael Sprouse with have a preliminary hearing in magistrate court under the council of Joe Munoz on July 9th at 9:30am.

Over the weekend, Sprouse waived his extradition to West Virginia and returned voluntarily.

West Virginia state police and St. Marys officers traveled to Columbus to return him to West Virginia.

He was arraigned in Pleasants County magistrate court and given a $200,000 bond.

UPDATE: 07/01/18

Pleasants County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Carr says Michael Sprouse waived his extradition to West Virginia and returned voluntarily.

Officers traveled to Columbus to pick Sprouse up and bring him back to Pleasants County.

Sprouse was arraigned in Pleasants County Magistrate County and given a $200,000 bond.

He's in the North Central Regional Jail.

A date for his preliminary hearing has not been set.

Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, Ohio, a person of interest in the suspicious death case in St Marys, had a hearing on Monday in Columbus.

Sprouse is charged with the burglary of a home in St. Marys, which prosecutors say is related to the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Drive, St. Marys.

Ohio authorities report that the hearing disposed of his local charges but that the extradition from Ohio to West Virginia was not actually set.

On May 31, Columbus Police questioned and arrested Sprouse inside a bar on High Street in Columbus, after someone inside the bar recognized Sprouse and told police he was there.

An Ohio man charged with burglary and wanted for questioning in the death of a St. Marys man will be extradited from Ohio to West Virginia.

On Tuesday in Franklin County, Ohio Municipal Court, a judge ordered Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, Ohio, to be held without bond in the Franklin County Jail until his extradition to West Virginia, which is scheduled for June 25, 2018.

Sprouse is charged with the burglary of a home in St. Marys, which prosecutors say is related to the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Drive, St. Marys.

Investigators say Kuehne was found dead on May 24 inside his home.

On May 31, Columbus Police questioned and arrested Sprouse inside a bar on High Street in Columbus, after someone inside the bar recognized Sprouse and told police he was there.


UPDATE: 6/1/2018, 5:26 P.M.

Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, Ohio, who is wanted for questioning in the May 24 death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, is set for a hearing Tuesday, June 5, in Franklin County Municipal Court.

That hearing is on a burglary charge, although Pleasants County Prosecutor Brian Carr says the charge is releated to Kuehne's death May 24.

Pleasants County officials are expected to be at the Tuesday hearing, and will request Spouse be held without bond.


UPDATE: 05/31/2018, 12:05 P.M.

Police in Columbus, Ohio have arrested a man wanted for questioning in the death of a man in St. Marys, West Virginia.

Columbus Police say officers arrested Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, at 12:22 A.M. Thursday, at a bar on High Street in Columbus.

Investigators say someone called Columbus Police to report seeing Sprouse inside the bar.

When officers approached Sprouse and asked for his identification, he initially stated he had no ID on him, but told officers his name was Michael Sprouse.

Officers detained Sprouse and searched him, finding an ID card that confirmed he was Michael Shawn Sprouse.

The officers then ran a check on his name, which revealed a nationwide warrant for burglary out of St. Marys, West Virginia, and that he is wanted for questioning in the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Drive, St. Marys., who was found dead inside his home on May 24.

Sprouse was arrested on this warrant,and his cellphone was turned in to the West Virginia State Police.

Sprouse is currently being held in the Franklin County, Ohio Jail.

Authorities are continuing to look for an Ohio man considered a person of interest in the death of a man in St. Marys.

Michael Shawn Sprouse, 38, of Columbus, is described by authorities as being 6 feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He also has a tattoo on his left upper arm that includes wings.

Authorities have said he could be driving a red 2014 Ford Focus with West Virginia license plate 71Z886 and that he should be considered armed and dangerous..

The vehicle belonged to Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Drive, St. Marys., who was found dead inside his home on May 24.

The West Virginia State Police say Kuehne's parents returned to the home on May 24 and found him dead on the floor of his bedroom.

Troopers say there were no obvious signs of how he died and that he was last seen alive on May 22.

Sprouse was last seen on May 22 in West Virginia, driving a red 2014 Ford Focus with West Virginia license plate 71Z886.

Investigators say that vehicle is owned by Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Drive, St. Marys., who was found dead on Thursday, May 24, inside his home.

Law enforcement in Pleasants County is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in a suspicious death investigation.

They are looking for a white man who is approximately 6 feet tall, weighs 190 lbs, has brown hair, green eyes, dark hair and a distinct tattoo on his left upper arm that includes wings.

Authorities say on May 22nd, the man may have been driving a red 2014 Ford Focus with West Virginia license number 71Z886. It matches the description of the victim’s vehicle.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

This is in connection to the death of Timothy Wayne Kuehne.

The 37-year-old was found dead inside a home in St. Marys on Thursday. The victim did not have any obvious indicators showing the possible cause of death.

An investigation into the death of a Pleasants County man is underway after authorities say he was found dead inside his home Thursday evening..

According to the West Virginia State Police, the parents of Timothy Wayne Kuehne, 37, of Bradfield Dr., St. Marys., returned home and found him dead on the floor of his bedroom.

Troopers say there were no obvious signs of how he died and that he was last seen alive on Tuesday, May 22.

Authorities are also looking for an unknown person who they say was with Kuehne earlier in the week.

They are looking for his vehicle, which they say is missing from his residence. It's a red 2014 Ford Focus with West Virginia license-plate number 71Z886.

Kuehne's body was taken to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston for an autopsy.

The Pleasants County Sheriff's Office, and the St. Marys Police Department are assisting in the investigation.


The person of interest has dark hair and a distinct tattoo on his left upper arm that includes wings.
The person of interest is a white man who is approximately 6 feet tall and 210 pounds.
