BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) - A well-traveled Columbus, Ohio-based band, a KISS tribute band and a group of veteran local musicians will headline the entertainment at the 87th annual Belpre Homecoming, officials said.
This year’s festival will be Aug. 1-3 at Civitan Park.
McGuffey Lane will kick off this year’s festivities at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 1. The group gained national attention in the 1980s, touring with The Charlie Daniels Band, The Judds, The Marshal Tucker Band and the The Allman Brothers Band.
“McGuffey Lane had a huge fan base in this area at that time,” said Chuck Lipps, entertainment chairman. “Their songs and sound connected with the people back then. Here’s the chance to bring home some memories.”
Strutter, billed as American’s No. 1 KISS tribute band, will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, while the local group Stallion will take perform its mix of classic rock and 1970s and 80s radio hits at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 3.
