Blair Couch to remain president of Wood County Commission

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Blair Couch will remain the president of the Wood County Commission in 2019.

The decision was made Thursday morning at the commission’s first meeting of the year.

Couch was also sworn in for a new 6-year term on the commission.

Couch hopes the commission continues to operate openly and with transparency.

“To make sure our county is healthy, that it’s a great place to raise a family that we try to keep taxes and fees as low as possible, but we also in the same vein want to make sure that we are a great place for a business to locate,” Couch said when asked about his goals.

Couch’s father was a commissioner in the late 90s and early 2000s.
