UPDATE: Boil order lifted for all Harrisville water customers

The town of Harrisville says the advisory has been lifted.

The town of Harrisville has issued a boil-water advisory affecting all of the town's water-system customers.

Officials said the advisory is a result of unauthorized or unsupervised use of fire hydrants.

The advisory is in effect until further notice, but officials estimated it could be in place for five days.

Affected area include Harrisville, Pullman and the Washburn/Mahone and Chevaux De Frise areas.

Customers are advised to use bottled water or to boil their water for at least one minute and let cool before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, washing dishes, bathing or preparing food.
