PARKERSBURG W.Va. (WTAP) - St. Marys native, C. Michael Morrison, is on a book tour promoting his new novel, Hannah Goodheart and the Guardian of Time.
Morrison categorizes it as a young adult novel that is like, "Percy Jackson, but with time travel."
He began his book tour at the West Virginia Book Festival in Charleston on October 4, and then appeared and J and M Bookstore in Parkersburg on October 5 to sign copies of his book.
On Monday morning, he went to speak with students at his alma mater, St. Marys High School, about how he became an author, and telling the students to never stop chasing their dreams.
Morrison noted that many characters in his book are based off people he met while living in the Mid-Ohio Valley. He had to make West Virginia a stop on his tour, so he could re-connect with people and places he has always admired.
"West Virginia had to be on my stop, because this is my home state," said Morrison. "I'm proud to be a West Virginian. I'm proud to have come from the Mid-Ohio Valley."
Copies of Hannah Goodheart and the Guardian of Time are being sold at J & M Bookstore in Parkersburg, while supplies last.
