Cairo Volunteer Firefighters save person from flooded home

CAIRO, W.Va. (WTAP) - Firefighters from the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department helped save someone from their flooded house Monday.

The Cairo Fire Department was called to help with flooding outside of a house on Cairo Road around 5 p.m. Crews found water rising around the house and garage. They helped the homeowners save their belongings.

As the water got higher, they helped get their pets to safety. Then a passerby said someone may be trapped in a house down the street.

The firefighters went inside and removed the person from danger.
