Beatrice, W.Va (WTAP)- A nine-person car accident in Ritchie County sends four to the hospital, two by helicopter.

The call came in at 11:56 Monday morning on route 47 near Beatrice. West Virginia State Troopers say a van was traveling eastbound when it crossed over the center and collided with a Ford Expedition.

Officials say a car traveling behind the expedition then hit both cars after the initial collision.

One person was flown by helicopter to Charleston, another to an unknown location. Two more passengers were transported by ambulance to Camden Clark Medical Center.

State police say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Although no charges have yet been filed, state police say they plan to charge the driver of the van.
