UPDATE: Driver dies after car wreck in Vienna

VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP - UPDATE: 4/11/2020

A 41-year-old Parkersburg woman is dead after the car she was driving crashed on to its top in in the water of Pond Run in Vienna.

According to a news release from the Vienna Police Department, Megan Reynolds died in the crash.

The crash happened close to 2 P.M. on Friday afternoon in the 400 block of Grand Central Avenue between the Nail Bar and Ruby Tuesdays.

The police department says when it arrived at the accident personnel from St. Joseph’s Ambulance and other people were helping to get Reynolds out of the car.

An 8-year-old boy, who was riding in the car, was out of the car and was getting medical treatment.

Both people were taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark. That is where Reynolds was pronounced dead and the boy was treated for minor injuries.

The Vienna Police Department is continuing its investigation.

Two people were taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after a car went off Grand Central Avenue and overturned into Pond Run in Vienna, authorities said.

It happened about 2 p.m. in an area between Popeye's restaurant and the Nail Bar, which formerly housed the Skier's Edge business.

The Vienna police and fire departments are at the scene.
