UPDATE: Belpre office building hit by car re-opens as scheduled

BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 4/23/19 6:45 P.M.

It was business as usual on Tuesday at a physicians' office building in Belpre, a day after an SUV crashed into the front of the building.

The building at 807 Memorial Drive re-opened as scheduled Tuesday morning after being evacuated after the accident late Monday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Marietta Memorial Hospital said there was damage to the front of the building but that it was inspected and found to be structurally sound.

Belpre Police said a Parkersburg woman was treated at the nearby emergency room after the crash, but there was no other information about her injuries on Tuesday.

Police said the accident happened when the driver of the SUV stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. He was not injured and was not cited in the accident.
