PARKERSBURG W.Va. (WTAP) - The West Virginia Central Credit Union presented a check for the West Virginia Children's Hospital on Wednesday in Parkersburg.

Partnering with the color run, the credit union wrote a check worth over $17,000 to the children's hospital to help them rebuild a hospital in Morgantown. It will be a ten-floor building with brand new facilities.

Since the credit union is a non-profit organization like the Children's Hospital, their mission is to give back to the community in anyway they can.

"Charitable contributions, that's the heart of the Credit Union, " said Marketing Strategist Allie Bennett. "We usually write about a quarter of a million dollars a year to non-profits in our area."

The building is set to break ground this December.
