MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) Is it ever really too early to start thinking about Christmas? Well, Marietta Main Street doesn't think so.
The downtown non-profit is once holding its second Christmas in July fundraiser this month.
100 lamp posts are available to be sponsored and decorated. The group also has Christmas trees available to sponsor and dedicate as part of a holiday tree walk in Muskingum park.
"We have fifty of those to do our part to keep expanding our downtown beautification efforts for the holiday season," executive director Cristie Thomas said, "and also build a tourist attraction. You know, it's not time-based, it'll just be on display throughout the holidays, so folks can come down, peruse the trees, enjoy them and hopefully come on further up the street downtown and shop local."
Trees and lamp posts are $100 each and the fundraiser runs until August 2.
