HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) - The Elks Lodge held a flag presentation, Friday, at the VA Nursing Home in honor of Flag Day.

Flag Day celebrated the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777.

The Harrison County Lodge group #2875 says they came to honor the flags, but to also honor the veterans in the community.

The ceremony included the presentation of the 8 flags that have represented the United States over the years and information about where they came from and when it came about.

"We have all of the flags from the start of the first flag, from the colonies, to as it evolved to the flag that we have today. The ceremony consists of a little bit of information on each flag," said Joe Corcoglioniti of the Harrison County Lodge #2875.

The Pledge of Allegiance was also recited during the ceremony.
