UPDATE: Man hospitalized in Columbus after Route 7 crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 7/17/19 5:25 P.M.

One man was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on State Route 7 south of New Matamoras in Washington County, authorities said.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher, the man was injured in a collision involving a commercial truck hauling sand and a passenger car.

The man has not been identified and there's no information available about his injuries.

The crash happened about 8:45 a.m. and closed the highway between Archers Fork Road and State Route 260 for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

State Route 7 in Washington County re-opened about 11 a.m. Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash shut down the highway near New Matamoras.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not released information about the crash, which happened about 8:45 a.m. and closed a section of the highway between Archers Fork Road and State Route 260.
