PARKERSBURG, W.Va.-(WTAP) For the 6th year in a row, Superior Toyota-Hyundai observes "Giving Tuesday".
The dealership Tuesday played host to dozens of non-profit agencies served, in part, by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.
Most of those agencies stressed the need not just for funding, but for volunteers to work with their programs.
Superior's management presented the foundation with a $30,000 check to help the PACF launch its annual fund-raising campaign.
"We have a tremendous amount of different organizations that range from groups that help vulnerable populations to those who work with arts and culture to bring good social life to our community," said PACF Executive Director Judy Sjosedt. "It's just a tremendous morning for us to see the broad spectrum of all of the groups meeting the needs of others in our community."
The foundation's fund-raising efforts culminate each year with the 24-hour Give Local MOV campaign in May.
Last year's campaign brought in $324,000.
Sjostedt hopes Superior's donation will help inspire other businesses and donors to match the contribution, as a build-up to the Give Local MOV campaign.
