UPDATE: Suspect at large after Parkersburg motorcycle pursuit

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - UPDATE: 3:01 a.m.

The Wood County sheriff's office says a man is still at large after a motorcycle pursuit through south Parkersburg Sunday evening.

Deputies initiated the pursuit in the area of Marrtown and Dupont roads because the motorcycle did not have a registration plate and driver was allegedly being reckless.

Deputies saisd speeds reached more than 100 mph during the eight-minute pursuit that ended near the 900 block of Pettyville Road when the motorcycle collided with a tree and the suspect ran into the woods.

Deputies used K-9 Drago to track the suspect through the woods, but the search was called off in a nearby horse pasture.

Deputies said warrants are actively being sought as the investigation continues.
