Downed tree knocks out power, closes schools in Gilmer County

GLENVILLE, W.Va. (WDTV) - A downed tree in Glenville knocked out power to hundreds and forced schools in Gilmer County to close on Friday.

According to Gilmer County emergency officials, the city of Glenville could be without power for much of the day.

The road at the intersection of West Main Street and Sycamore is closed due to the downed tree.

Mon Power crews are at the scene working to restore power.

Gilmer County schools are all closed due to the power outage.

Additionally, Glenville State College classes are canceled. College officials said employees should check with their supervisor before reporting to work.
