PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Downtown PKB held their annual board of directors meeting starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Board members, partners and sponsors were shown several highlights from 2019, which Executive Director Wendy Shriver says included a lot of growth.
Shriver says they were able to hire another full time staff person to coordinate events and to manage Downtown PKB’s website and social media. Social media is one of the areas the organization has grown. They now boast over eight thousand followers on Facebook.
Among other accomplishments, Downtown PKB organized eight events in Parkersburg last year, and they added multiple public art installations.
“There’s lots more of that on the horizon for 2020,” said Shriver.
But Downtown PKB also highlighted others in their 2019 review.
“We also use this as an opportunity to promote the winners of our ‘Spirit of Downtown’ awards. And so those folks were recognized tonight, as well as the businesses that sponsored those awards,” said Shriver.
After the presentation, board members, sponsors and other community members chatted and enjoyed heavy refreshments.
