MARIETTA, Oh. (WTAP) - Residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley got their chance to boat on the Muskingum River this morning, some for the first time.
The boat was not an ordinary boat but a dragon boat.
The MOV’N Dragons have held multiple open paddle sessions to allow the public to ride in the dragon boat, it also serves as a way to bring awareness to cancer.
All of the members of the MOV’N Dragons have either had cancer or have been affected by the disease.
Both first-time paddlers and event organizers say that the main goal of the event is for a good cause.
There are several more open paddle sessions this summer.
Just show up to the Marietta High School Boathouse at 9 AM on:
- July 27
- August 3
- August 24
